"I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR."
Everyone has said this, and I even said the EXACT same thing when I was a senior in high school! Well, today, I will show you that you DO have things to wear for your senior photos and how you can feel confident in your own skin. Most of these topics will relate towards feminine fashion HOWEVER for my more mascline people I have a section towards the end! So moms scroll down for your boys!
How do I find clothes that look good on me?
Now, every senior needs to feel super confident and find clothes that flatter them. I always recommend studying fashion and seeing what type of clothes would work best for your body type. EVERYONE has clothes that fit them better because of their body type, and only that body type can pull it off. Here are some great places to find inspirations that tailor to you:
PINTEREST: This app is straight gold!!! I love searching "Curvy outfits for fall" or "Dresses that Flatter wide shoulders", and get to see amazing results.
TIKTOK: I already know you are on that app way to much, so use it for your advantage. There are people there that are influencers that you can find that have your shape or your style and can help you! You can also ask question, see what other people think and they often lead a link to basics that are versatile so you can wear them again!
YOUTUBE: Youtube is like a more indepth TikTok, you can watch way longer videos and even watch actual fashion desigers explain what works best. There is so much knowledge in Youtube!
Here are some great youtube videos to start out on to know how to style you!
- "You DON'T Know Your FULL Body Type: Improve Your Style with THESE 5 Easy Tests"
- '"I look bad in everything." dude, no. you're just not dressing for YOUR body type'
- "you're not bad at styling, you just need outfit formulas ⭐"
Here is a great couple of videos to start on!
What styles look good with my location?
Honestly, anything goes well with any location. However, remember that if you are doing something country, you probably don't want a silky red dress. Wait, actually, that could be cute. But! If you look confident, anything can work anywhere.
That said, it’s all about balance. If you’re in a laid-back setting, like a beach or a park, consider lighter fabrics and more relaxed silhouettes. A flowy maxi dress or stylish shorts paired with a cute top can fit right in while still making a statement.
In contrast, for urban environments, don’t be afraid to play with edgy styles or bold colors. A tailored jumpsuit or chic heels can elevate your look and help you stand out amidst the hustle and bustle.
Ultimately, accessory choices can also change the vibe completely. A wide-brimmed hat can add a touch of bohemian flair in a more casual setting, while a sleek clutch and statement jewelry can amp up an outfit for a night out in the city.
Remember, it’s all about how you carry yourself. Confidence truly is the best accessory, so wear what you love and own it!
Basic Outfits We All Love!
Now listen, sometimes being basic is just all we need. Personally, I am not a basic person. But a lot of people just want ideas that are simple! Here are some of my FAVORITE timeless outfits!
White Dress or White Tope
Oh I love a good white outfit! It is timeless, and goes well in any location! Something about white just really stand out.

If you have a favorite sundress, you just won the jackpot! This is such an easy outfit to have in your summer photos!
Pattern top and Jeans
Want to be a little different but still stay? Get yourself a cute top with a pattern and BOOM you have a cute basic but unique outfit.
For the "BOYS"
Now masculine outfits can be hard, trust me. However basics are really nice and simple. The biggest thing is researching what looks best with your body and also looking at different trends. Here are some do's and don'ts with mens wear:
Do's:
- Choose colors that complement your skin tone.
- Opt for T-shirts with trendy shapes.
- Wear nice shoes (avoid casual sneakers like Sketchers).
- Invest in a good button-up shirt and smart pants.
- Layer with vests, jackets, flannels, etc.
- Don’t forget to wear belts!
Don'ts:
- Stay away from skinny jeans.
- Avoid sweatshirts unless you’re using them for layering.
- Refrain from wearing shirts with logos.
- Ensure your clothes fit properly; don’t wear items that are too loose or too tight.
Be Confident!
Overall, find outfits that flatter you. Go shopping for some new items, or stick with your closet and don't be afraid to ask! Many people would love to give their opinion and even your photographer! Bellow are some of my favorite outfits my seniors wore!
